# Widget preview

> Preview the Chatbot draft in open/closed, desktop/mobile states using the same public stylesheet without creating a live chat session.

Open **Chatbot → Widgets → Preview** to inspect the current widget draft before publication.

## What Preview renders

Preview uses the public widget stylesheet and current draft values for widget name, localized welcome/interface copy, colors, theme, launcher position and shape, window size, corner radius, mobile behavior, logo, assistant avatar, and RAUM branding.

## Open and closed states

Switch between **Open** and **Closed**.

Check the closed launcher as carefully as the open window. It is the element visitors see on every page before they decide to interact.

## Desktop and mobile

Switch between **Desktop** and **Mobile**.

Mobile Preview applies the configured mobile behavior, including full-screen or bottom-sheet presentation.

## Preview uses published locale copy

The preview resolves interface translations using the same published locale catalog and fallback behavior as the public widget.

This prevents the editor from showing a greeting/interface combination that visitors could not actually receive.

## Preview is not a conversation test

> [!NOTE]
>
> Preview never opens a Chatbot session and sends no message to the Assistant.

The example visitor/reply shown in Preview is display content used to demonstrate styling.

Use **Conversations → Simulate** for an actual private test of the Chatbot pipeline.

## What Preview cannot prove

Preview does not test AI-provider availability, knowledge retrieval, public connection policies, visitor identity, handoff delivery, real attachments, CSAT persistence, production-origin enforcement, or your installation CSP.

Use it for visual verification, then use Simulation and a real allowed-origin test for runtime behavior.
