# Translate a reply

> Translate your composer text into 20+ languages directly from the RAUM AI toolbar in Zendesk.

The **Translate** button translates the current text in your reply composer into a target language. It works in both email and chat/messaging tickets.

## How to use it

  <Step title="Write or generate a reply">
    Type your reply in the composer, or use **Generate** to get an AI draft first.

  <Step title="Click Translate">
    Click the **Translate** button in the RAUM AI toolbar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select a language">
    Choose the target language from the selector. Languages are listed by their native names (e.g. Español, Français, Deutsch).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the result">
    The original text is preserved above a separator, and the translation is appended below. Edit as needed before sending.
  </Step>

## Supported languages

Translate supports 20+ languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, and Norwegian.

## Auto-detect

If the customer wrote in a language other than English, RAUM AI can automatically detect their language and translate your reply into it. This is configured by your admin in the AI settings.

  Translate is available in both email mode and chat/messaging mode. In chat mode, it appears as a **Translate** button alongside the other short-form tools.
