After email verification, an AI Assistant signup continues with the Zendesk resources RAUM needs to operate inside your support workflow.

1. Set up the Zendesk webhook and triggers

RAUM can provision or reconcile the webhook and the three onboarding triggers:
  • Ticket created
  • Ticket solved
  • Ticket rated
All three are selected by default. Run the setup and review the status shown for each resource. RAUM can report that a trigger was created, reused, updated, skipped, or failed.
Retrying the RAUM setup is safer than blindly creating duplicate webhook resources in Zendesk. The setup path is designed to reconcile resources that already exist.

2. Install the RAUM AI Assistant Marketplace app

After trigger setup, RAUM attempts to install or update the public Marketplace app automatically. A successful automatic install means you do not need to paste the app credential yourself.

If automatic installation succeeds

Continue to the next onboarding step, then open Zendesk after sign-in to confirm that the RAUM controls are visible.

If automatic installation cannot complete

Use the manual Marketplace installation fallback. You need:
  • your Organization ID; and
  • the generated RAUM API token for the app.
There is no Backend URL field in the current public Marketplace app. Open the full manual installation guide →

3. Decide whether to start Brand Voice analysis

Brand Voice is optional during onboarding. When you start the analysis, RAUM reviews approximately the last six months of public agent replies and finds phrasing that appears repeatedly across your team. The analysis is intended to learn language your agents actually use rather than inventing a generic style profile.
Brand Voice suggestions are drafts. Starting the analysis does not automatically approve those phrases for customer-facing replies.
The analysis can continue after onboarding. Review the resulting suggestions later from the Brand Voice area of the AI workspace.

4. Sign in to the RAUM workspace

After onboarding completes, sign in to your organization and review:
  • AI — confirm the provider and active models;
  • AI Assistant → Zendesk — confirm the connection, sync, automation, enrichment, and security configuration;
  • Knowledge — add or review procedures, guidelines, documents, and the Zendesk resources you want Assistant to use.

5. Verify the Zendesk app

Open a Zendesk ticket as an agent who should have access to RAUM. Confirm that you can see:
  • the RAUM controls in the ticket editor; and
  • the RAUM ticket sidebar.
If the app is installed but an agent cannot see it, review the Zendesk app/role configuration.

6. Run a safe first test

Start with an ordinary test or low-risk ticket.
  1. Use Generate.
  2. Review the draft instead of sending it blindly.
  3. Check whether the response used the right knowledge and procedures.
  4. Confirm any proposed action before executing it.
  5. Submit the Zendesk reply normally when you are satisfied.
Use the agent-assisted flow first while you validate knowledge, tone, and integrations. Increase automation only after the behavior matches your support policy.

If you also purchased AI Chatbot

The Chatbot product is already available in the same organization, but its web channel is not created by the Zendesk onboarding flow. Continue with Finish AI Chatbot setup to create the channel and install the widget.
